Creative Pattern Tip:

Remember how much fun it was as a kid to let your creativity run free on a nice spring day with nothing but a box of sidewalk chalk and an entire blank sidewalk as a canvas?

Next time you see kids at play having a great time with sidewalk chalk, don't just stand there, join them!

Wait a minute, what does this have to do with pumpkin or watermelon carving?

Nothing.

But don't let that stop you from using your imagination to do something else creative with these pumpkin patterns. And while you're at it, let your inner child come out and play.

(The pattern I used for this can be found here)

Side note on sidewalk art:

If you really want to get a little more serious with sidewalk chalk you can stretch the image out long so that it appears normal when viewed standing right in front of it.

Here, my daughter feeds the sidewalk horse an apple.
(I used a charchol briquet to get the black tones)

You can tell how stretched out the
drawing is from the side view.

This is a little tricky and takes some practice getting it right, but it has been fun to experiment with.

Have a creative day!
