I made this comment on one of my posts, but I’ll make an official blog entry about it here because I keep getting asked about new pumpkin patterns for 2010.
Every year I create new pumpkin patterns for our local “North Logan Pumpkin Walk” event, and I feature these patterns on PumpkinGlow.com.
This year’s pumpkin walk theme is on animations.
I had planned on creating a set of patterns on one of my favorite animations (I have several favorites), but this year has been…
well, let’s just say “eventful”.
Fortunately, I have quite a library of cartoon patterns from previous years, so I will be choosing a selection from these for our Pumpkin Walk event this year.
Unfortunately, I have removed these patterns from my site since they would be considered copyright violations on my site.
I plan on adding patterns if I can this year, and I certainly plan on continuing to add more each year. But this year I have had to put other priorities first (like family and work).
Thank you for your interest in my site and my patterns and for your compliments.

2 of the questions I get asked most are about shading and how to make pumpkins last longer. Did you know that by shading your pumpkin it will last longer?
Once you poke all the way thru the pumpkin it’s display life diminishes quickly. By shading your pumpkin you get several benefits:
The downside is that shading is typically harder to do.
But wait. I just ran across something that may be just the ticket. If you’ve tried shading before and found it a hassle, you may want to check this out:
I have not tried this product myself. I just learned about it today and I was impressed with how easy it looks.
I am not affiliated with this product and I make no commission if you buy it. I don’t even know the people who are selling it, but I pass this on because I always like trying new tools and think it may help you with your carving.
Go check it out now.
P.S. I would be very interested to hear how this tool works out for you. Share your comments and experiences below.

Now that January is almost over, I’m getting around to wishing everyone a happy new year.
Someone asked me this morning about New Year’s resolutions in the past that I didn’t keep.
“I don’t make New Year’s resolutions”. I said.
“I set goals and I don’t wait for New Years to do it”.
Of course, I do enjoy taking the opportunity around the holiday season to reflect on the direction my life is taking. But I also like to do this throughout the year.
I believe setting and working on goals is a balancing act between work and play. Achieving great things and celebrating successes.
To me, carving pumpkins and watermelons is play. It’s also a way to improve my talents and express myself artistically.
Happy New Year everyone!
And congratulations if you’re still on track with your own resolutions.
Happy Carving!
